January 29 in Crested Butte on my Dad’s 88th Birthday!
Left yesterday and had a bit of a harrowing drive with the winds at some points reaching 70+ mph. The sprinter did well, but not something you want to do.
Bob is skiing today, Tad and I explored the area and I had a very nice message, reminding me I need to get them more often. The weather is beautiful and Bob tells me the trails aren’t bad. They had a nice military discount in January, so we took advantage. Would be nice to come back with the little ones. They have a children’s museum too!
We took the shuttle bus into town as we are on Crested Butte Mountain! Pita in Paradise is a Greek restaurant where we had dinner. They have great early bird specials. Bob had a red IPA with his bbq pita and I had an original gyro. We shared a basket of curly fries. Very yummy!
Definitely a place we will come back to.

Drew’s Baptism Jan 20, 2018

Drew Robert Busick was baptized at Immaculate Conception Church in Lafayette CO. His grandfather GT (aka Gtons to his grandchildren) Tovrea and I stood in as his godparents. It was a beautiful day and Lauren’s brother John and his family, wife Jessica, daughter Ella, and sons Von and Rex were also in attendance. After the baptism we ate dinner at The Lazy Dog cafe and the children were amazingly well behaved. It couldn’t have been a more fulfilling day. Father Bob did a great job with is explanations and readings as well!

Colorado Springs, Jan 19, 2018

Had a full day, with Jeanie and GT picking us up and driving to the Air Force Academy to give us a tour. GT is a graduate, so it was interesting. We then drove through Garden of the Gods on our way to Manatou Springs, a quirky little town with a very good brewery and good eats. We then stoppein Old Colorado City and looked at the magic town gallery. Very intriguing, detailed sculpiters in a doll house type town with holograms. Very Cool!
